Very smart double vinyl with a good clean gatefold cover .
The well-recorded live performances on this two-LP set date from three different periods: Count Basie's pre-Pablo 1974 band with tenor-great Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, the star-studded 1977 orchestra (featuring Jimmy Forrest's tenor, trombonist Al Grey and drummer Butch Miles) and the very solid 1980 group. Throughout, the various Basie orchestras are consistently exciting and swinging.
