At the Chelsea Nightclub was The Members' first album, released in 1979.

From the name of the band and that of their singer to the colourful themes of all their songs, The Members were the clown princes of punk. Frontman Nicky Tesco emerged as music’s answer to Hillaire Belloc, penning cautionary tales of tragic teenagers whose fate unfolded in three-minute vignettes. In place of Matilda who shouted fire and Henry King who munched string, Tesco gave us Sally the model-turned-hooker; the painfully insecure Johnny publicly humiliated on Phone-In Show; the bent copper who lines his pockets in Soho-A-Go-Go; and Frustrated, Bagshot who, erm, ‘goes solo’ near the band’s own Surrey stomping ground.
