Los Angeles Forum • April 26, 1969

Brand new double album housed in a gatefold cover.

Los Angeles Forum: April 26, 1969 is a live album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. It was recorded during the group's last North American tour and includes a mix of popular Experience album songs along with some instrumentals.[1] The album is the first full live release by the trio with Hendrix, Noel Redding, and Mitch Mitchell since 2013's Miami Pop Festival.

Experience Hendrix and Sony Music's Legacy Recordings released it as a double record album and CD on November 18, 2022. It is the first time that the entire concert is available on an official album.[2] Longtime Hendrix audio engineer Eddie Kramer mixed the recordings, which were "sourced directly from the original eight-track master tapes", according to Experience Hendrix.[2]

Euphonics really hit it on the nails here, superb tracklist, a definite version of Red House, really lively renditions of Foxey Lady and Purple Haze, but the really cool cuts next to Red House are the other jam tracks, I Don't Live Today and the over the top Voodoo Child/ Sunshine Of Your Love Medley. Sound is as good as it can get, another superb pressing by GZ media makes this one the perfect live Hendrix/ Experience album. Must say that (and that is a very personal taste) Tax Free bored me to death most times, but even this tune is fun here, with great solos by Hendrix and Mitchell. Redding's background singing is a pleasure to hear, too.
Best release by Experience Hendrix so far besides the official studio albums. Wasn't too sure to buy it, but I do not have any regrets now. Only the cover artwork Looks a bit.like a bargain bin bootleg. A conscious decision??? The inner-sleeve pictures would have made it much more worthy.

The greatest power trio of all time prove it again here with this essential live document. Jimi, Mitch and Noel are absolutely on fire on this particular Saturday, in April, in the City of Angels, in 1969. Jimi’s stage banter alone is worth the price of admission, but the pressing is stellar, QRP does it again, the performance is incendiary and the mix is like you’re at the Forum on this night. Highly recommend this release.

Scores all the highest marks a live album should. At this point, there's really no reason to ever pull out the old "Live at Woodstock" CD I've had since middle school. This set is far fiercer, more direct, and better recorded. Certainly sharper sounding than any available bootlegs, and a cooler, more compelling setlist than many of the recent stuff the Estate's been putting out in recent years. Maybe you'd hold onto Woodstock to put on the more fleshed out, definitive version of Star Spangled, but that's really it. This thing completely smokes. Probably one of the most cohesive Hendrix shows ever captured, with great liner notes too.

Simply amazing, they were on fire that night! Billy’s liner notes are spot on, being there himself side stage in person! I can’t believe the tapes were this good from a 1969 live show! Bernie and QRP as always, NAIL IT! Almost as good as being there!
