N.C.C.U., or New Central Connection Unlimited, was a band formed at North Carolina Central University in the mid-1970s.

N.C.C.U.’s big break came when famed jazz trumpeter and NCCU professor of music Donald Byrd agreed to manage and produce the group. Through Byrd’s connections, the band secured a recording deal with the national label United Artists and produced the album Super Trick. Among the songs on the album was the disco-funk tribute to Durham, “Bull City Party.
