Good Vibrations (50TH ANNIVERSARY)

Sealed brand new 12" anniversary EP celebrating 50 years since its original release.

Capitol Records/UMe October 10 marks the 50th anniversary of the release of one of The Beach Boys most enduring and beloved hits, "Good Vibrations." To coincide with the milestone, a 12-inch EP featuring five versions of the sonically inventive chart-topper pressed on sunburst vinyl.

Co-written by founding Beach Boys Brian Wilson and Mike Love, "Good Vibrations" was recorded at multiple sessions at four different studios in Hollywood between February and September 1966. The song was highlighted by layered production, an episodic structure and unusual instrumentation, including a theremin.

The Good Vibrations (50th Anniversary Edition) vinyl EP features the original single version of the tune, an alternate take, an edit of the song that combines tracks from various sessions, an instrumental version and a live rehearsal performance recorded in August 1967 in Honolulu. The vinyl disc also includes "Let's Go Away for Awhile," which was the B-side of the "Good Vibrations" single.

The EP's cover art replicates the artwork featured on the original U.S. "Good Vibrations" single. The vinyl disc comes packaged with a pull-out lithograph of the cover of the original Japanese "Good Vibrations" single.
